Every Easter, the Imperial Russian Czar — Czar Nicholas II — bestowed a privately commissioned Faberge egg on his beloved wife Alexandra. The original collection for the House of Faberge, which was confiscated from the Czar's many palaces in 1917 following the Russian Revolution, is now on display inside the Kremlin museum in Moscow. Here, we offer one stunning replica. This egg was presented in 1897 and is one of the most celebrated Imperial eggs ever created. It opens to reveal a tiny replica of the coach that carried Alexandra to the ceremony.
